Game Description:
A 3D multiplayer turn-based tactics game where each player only controls 1 unit and each unit has 1 hit point. The game emulates how quick and decisive duels can be between highly skilled fighters. Players take quick turns in which they are allowed to perform one action: move a single space, attack, block, or use a special ability. Once a player lands a single hit the match is over.
Mechanics:
Actions:
Each turn the player will be able to perform a single action. These actions include: movement, attack, block, or use a special abilities. All characters and enemies actions are decided on the same turn and at the end of the turn all units actions are performed at the same time.
Movement:
The Movement action allows a player to move their character into one of the 8 surrounding tiles.
Attack:
When a character attacks they will pick a cardinal direction to attack. Then after they have picked a space to attack, players will be prompted to pick a cardinal direction next to the selected space. This confirms the second place the character will attack.
Block:
When a character blocks, they first chose a cardinal direction to face while they block. Then they chose an adjacent space as their parry prediction. If the player blocks an attack and the enemy’s attack is the same direction as the parry prediction than the enemy will be parried and have their weapon knocked out of their hand. The weapon will land within 2 spaces behind the block.
Special Abilities:
Each character will have unique abilities that can perform actions that will give them the upper hand in battle. After an ability is used it will have a cooldown before it can be used again.
Multiplayer:
The game’s main focus would be it’s multiplayer. The Multiplayer matches would be strictly 1v1 combat until it is refined enough to expand into 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, etc.
Multiplayer matches would be selected by random matchmaking or invitations of friends for a friendly dual. Matchmaking would have a ranked mode and an unranked mode. Ranked mode would try to match people based on their win lose ratio or if a more advanced method could be found, by playstyle and battle expertise. Unranked would simply try and find the first person it can on the servers and connect you, sorting the list by those who would have the strongest connection with you. If a player wishes to battle a friend they will enter a lobby and pick the friend they wish to invite (Most likely through Steam Friends or an in game friend system).
Once a player has selected their multiplayer mode they will be prompted to select a character to play as. The character selection screen will display the character and their special abilities and battle quirks. During this time a player will be located and once both players select a character the match will begin.
Matches will consist of small areas with minimal to no obstacles. Players will choose an action to perform each turn and at the end of each turn both players will perform their actions at the same time. Players continue to take turns until one player is hit by an attack and the game ends with the attacker being the victor.
Single Player:
The game may not ship with multiplayer to begin with. This is because the 1v1 combat is the center of what the game should be focused on. Afterwards a campaign can be made in two ways: Tournament mode and Campaign mode.
Tournament Mode:
This mode has the player select a character to play and then is challenged with 10 1v1 duels in a row. If the player is successful they may unlock a skin or more difficult mode.
Campaign Mode:
This mode has the player control armies of units as they all try to take down 1 unit. The one unit is to be a playable character that the player can unlock if they defeat them. Although in this mode the player has an army of generic fighters with no special abilities and 1 Hit Point. Meanwhile the single enemy unit (SEU) has 100 Hit Points.
Where this gets interesting is that the player will have 5 strongholds that they must defend. Each stronghold acts as a separate level with a boss character at the end of it. The player must use each stronghold to whittle down the SEU’s health down to 0, for the enemies health will carry over from stronghold to stronghold. At the beginning of each stronghold stage the player will get to place all their units throughout the stage and their strongholds boss will be placed at the very end. The SEU will than be spawned at the beginning of the level and make their way to the boss, killing all units in their way. It is up to the player to control their army and try and take down the SEU by any means necessary. If the SEU reaches the boss, a 1v1 battle will start and after every turn the characters will exchange dialogue to explain the SEU’s story. These stories told will reflect the battle slightly, but will mainly tell the motivations and goals of the SEU, similar to how anime fights seem to place a lot of conversations during battles, all while the characters are fighting.
This mode is meant to be very difficult and the SEU will be cheating in many ways such as:
If the player defeats the SEU then they unlock the character and can choose to play that character’s campaign from their perspective in a future mode.

This mode is meant to be very difficult and the SEU will be cheating in many ways such as:
- Having more than the normal 1 hit point
- Not having cooldowns on their special abilities
- Taking more than 1 action per turn (except during the duels between bosses)
If the player defeats the SEU then they unlock the character and can choose to play that character’s campaign from their perspective in a future mode.
